Pixie Lott đam mê ca hát từ nhỏ và khi mới 5 tuổi, cô đã nổi tiếng ở Chislehurst, Anh quốc là hát hay. Khi bước vào tuổi thiếu niên, Pixie Lott lấy được học bổng của một trường nghệ thuật và cô bắt đầu vừa học, vừa đi hát, diễn kịch từ năm 13, 14 tuổi.

15 tuổi, Pixie Lott ký được hợp đồng với hãng đĩa Def Jam và sau đó cô còn ký được hợp đồng với hãng đĩa Interscope ở Mỹ.

Kể từ năm 2009 đến nay, Pixie Lott liên tục nhận được những lời mời trình diễn trên khắp nước Anh. Khi cô phát hành đĩa đơn đầu tay Mama Do (Uh Oh, Uh Oh) vào tháng 6 vừa qua, đĩa đơn này trở thành một trong những ca khúc hot nhất và bán chạy nhất Anh quốc. Phát biểu trên báo, nữ ca sỹ trẻ gợi cảm Pixie Lott cho biết, chính cô cũng bất ngờ với thành công lớn từ đĩa hát đầu tay của mình.

Pixie Lott (born Victoria Louise Lott[1] on 12 January 1991) is a British singer–songwriter and actress, signed to Mercury Records in the UK and Interscope in the USA. Her debut single "Mama Do (Uh Oh, Uh Oh)" was released for download on 6 June 2009 and officially on 8 June,[2] going straight to number one in the UK in the week of 14 June 2009.[3] She is scheduled to release her debut album, entitled Turn It Up, on 14 September 2009, and has also recorded her single "Mama Do (Uh Oh, Uh Oh)" for Electronic Arts in Simlish for The Sims 3.[4] Billboard.com described her as the first British female solo artist to debut atop the singles chart in her native country not to be launched off a (reality) television programme with her debut single, Mama Do. [5] Pixie has recently released her second single, Boys & Girls, which shot up 73 places to number one on 14 September 2009, having been released the week before.

Early and personal life
Lott lives in Essex with her father, who is a stock broker, and her mother, a housewife; she has an older brother and sister.[6] Her mother gave her the nickname Pixie because she was a "tiny, cute baby" who looked like a fairy.[7]

After starting singing in her church school,[7] Lott attended the Italia Conti Associates Saturday school in Chislehurst from five years old, her family then moved to Essex and she went onto the main school Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts, where she was awarded a scholarship. During her time as a student she appeared in the West End production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at the London Palladium, and in BBC One's Celebrate the Sound of Music as Louisa von Trapp.[2] At the age of fourteen she was part of the chorus line, recording vocals on Roger Waters's opera Ça Ira.[6]


Career
L. A. Reid heard one of her demos[6] and signed her to the Island Def Jam Music Group when she was fifteen, but after a change of managers a bidding war ensued, resulting in her now being signed to Mercury Records in the UK and to Interscope Records in the USA.[6]

Lott played her first festival concert in the Big Top at the Isle of Wight Festival 2009, during her first full British tour, where she supported The Saturdays on The Work Tour.

She released her debut single, "Mama Do (Uh Oh, Uh Oh)", on 8 June 2009. It entered both the iTunes chart and the UK Singles Chart at number one, after over 50,000 sales. Lott was quoted as being shocked at the success of the single.[8]

On 15 August 2009, Pixie Lott was featured alongside Hoobastank, The All-American Rejects, Kasabian, Boys Like Girls, Estranged and Raygun as one of the live acts at Asia's very first MTV World Stage concert that was held in Malaysia[9].

She has also been reported to have written a song called "You Broke My Heart" for 2008 UK X Factor winner Alexandra Burke and has been approved by Simon Cowell.[10]

Pixie's second single "Boys And Girls" was released on 7 September 2009 and is currently number 1 in the UK.[11]
